Kidz Korner is proud to offer a before and after school care to support families.

Families from Peebles, Hosack, Wyland and Rogers(and Burchfield) Elementary schools are able to utilize our program which provides supervision, structured and unstructured exploration times, meals/snacks and transportation (Wyland and Rogers) or accompaniment to the bus stop on our property (Peebles and Hosack).  Our morning care program operates from 6:30 a.m. to approximately 9:00 a.m. and our afternoon program begins as the children return from school at about 3:20 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Children can attend each of programs from one to five days per week in order to best fit each family’s unique needs.

Our supervisors plan classroom and gym or outdoor activites aligned to Pennsylvania Learning Standards for children to explore throughout the mornings and afternoon.  Children will spend some time in a large group, however most of their time will be spent in similar age groups.

In addition to each regular school day, we also offer extended care for district early dismissals, in-service and weather delays or closures for our families.  This ‘as-needed’ care is billed on as used basis according to our posted rates.

Families that have used Kidz Korner before or after school, kindergarten enrichment or Kidz Venture summer camp (if located in our participating schools) in the past may enroll for ‘as-needed’ care including district closures and occasional before and after school care.  New families will not be able to register for ‘as-needed’ care.

Daily Schedule

In order to balance three different districts schedules, we have set schedules in place for our morning and afternoons.

Morning Schedule          Afternoon Schedule

Goals

Our goals for the program are as follows:

  • to meet the needs of our families and children
  • to create an inviting environment for children to safely explore and grow
  • to provide the children with opportunities to meet and engage with peers
  • to offer both individual and group play choices in the classroom, gym and playground
  • to provide a variety of  engaging and intentional activities that encourage creativity, logical thinking and problem solving as well as skill development
  • to support children with time and adult assistance in completing homework

At times these planned activities will take place over a multiple days giving the students the opportunity to become involved in the projects in a more meaningful way.
