Children’s Sunday Morning Christian Education Classes
Sunday mornings offer a classroom Christian Education experience for children. Beginning at age two, children are invited to attend class time with their peers. Adult volunteers lead the class time and follow Cokesbury’s Grow Curriculum. Teaching includes story and scripture to strength each weekly lesson. Prayer, craft, games and snack are also often part of the morning lessons.
Children age two through third grade meet downstairs in the lower level of the Christian Life Center (CLC). Fourth and Fifth graders meet in a combined classroom in the upper level of the CLC, next to the gym. Christian Education begins at 9:15 a.m. Second graders through fifth graders should go directly to their classrooms and check-in with the volunteer teachers. Two-year-olds and three-year-olds should also check in with the volunteer teachers at 9:15 a.m.
Four-year-olds through first graders should all meet in Red 1, the room directly to the left upon entering the lowet level of the CLC. During the first 15 minutes of Sunday morning Christian Education, this group will be instucted and taught Children’s Christian songs along with hand motions to reinforce the lessons being taught in class. All children participating in music time should be signed in on the sheets directly outside of the class doorway. At 9:30 a.m. all children are dismissed to their classrooms according to the sign-in sheets.
Christian Education classes end at 10:15 a.m. All children should be picked up by an adult via the volunteer leader at 10:15 a.m., the end of class.
