Thanks for keeping them in your prayers.
TRIP TO MISSION BARN, NEW
CASTLE, PA
St. Paul's Mission Team is planning a trip to the United Methodist "Mission
Barn" located about one hour north of Pittsburgh, near New Castle,
PA. The Mission Barn is where all of the Health Kits and other UMCOR kits
are collected, sorted, and prepared for shipment. We will be sorting and
packing kits. All adults and children ages 12 and up (with an adult) are
welcome to join us. We will meet at the church on Monday, August 2 at
9:00 a.m.; carpool to New Castle; and return to St. Paul's in the afternoon.
If interested, please contact Sue English at hsgjenglish@yahoo.com.
CHILDREN WELCOME IN WORSHIP
Children are welcome to remain in worship. If you choose, a nursery for
infants through two-year-olds is located in the lower level of the Christian
Life Center. Ushers can direct you. Children 3 years of age to Kindergarten
are invited to attend Children's Church. Parents, please drop off your
children in CLC Red 1 prior to the 8:45 service. At the 10:00 service,
children will depart for Children's Church following the Children's Message.
DROP-IN CHILD CARE ON SUMMER SCHEDULE
St. Paul's Drop-In Child Care is a state-licensed facility providing a
happy, safe environment for each child entrusted to our care. During the
month of July we are open Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m. We are closed August 2-25 and will reopen on Thursday, August 26
with extended hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for a trial period during
the fall. Registration packets for the fall are now available at
the Child Care area and the Church Office.
SECURITY SYSTEM TO BE INSTALLED
IN CHILDREN'S AREA
During August a new security system will be installed for the doors leading
to the Children's Ministry Area. Families using the Drop-In Child Care,
Kidz Korner, and Preschool will be issued a key fob that will permit them
entry to the building during their program hours. The doors will be unlocked
during Sunday morning ministries.
BE A BARNABAS FOR A COLLEGE
STUDENT
It's that time of year again for young adults to head off to college.
The Barnabas ministry provides a secret pal for interested students in
their first year of college/military. This secret pal sends small gifts,
notes, and cards throughout the year. If you are interested in supporting
one of these young persons or need more information, please call Jacque
Lang in the Church Office at 412.486.7006.
NHCO COLLECTING SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Through July 31, North Hills Community
Outreach is collecting new backpacks and school supplies for distribution
to low-income children in grades K-12. Items needed include backpacks
(large ones for older kids are especially needed), pencils, rulers, scissors,
crayons, markers, notebooks, and folders. Please place donations in the
Ministry Center.
REQUEST FOR E-MAILS
As a result of the surveys compiled in June, we found most of the congregation
uses e-mail. We will be using this form of communication to send reminders,
updates, and other information. Please send your e-mail address to jlang@stpaulsumc.com
or update one we may already have on file. Cards will be available in
the Communication Centers if you prefer to write it (please print clearly).
For those not using e-mail, we use phone tree messaging as well as printed
material. Thank you for your attention to this request.
GARDENS NEED TLC!
If you would like to help weed and water our gardens, please sign up in
the Communication Center for a week of care. Hoses are near the Sanctuary
entrance and George Crooks Dining Area door. Please feel free to come
any time to weed.
